I was extremely thankful to have a Survivor/ Solider of Domestic Violence in the building this evening. It's estimated that 35% of Women Worldwide have experience physical abuse at the hands of their partner at some point in their relationship. In America 1 in 4 Women (24.3%) aged 18 & older have been the victim of severe physical violence by an intimate partner in their lifetime. Women ages 18 to 24 & 25 to 34 generally experience the highest rates of intimate partner violence. Almost half of all Women have experienced psychological aggression by an intimate partner in their lifetime which is disturbing and sad. This evening we welcomed Monica the founder of the Podcast entitled " Black Women of Detroit" who discussed the abused she faced in detail at the hands of her Ex-Husband.
